Logrus International Corporation took part in the recent LocWord (Localization Word) conference, which was held on October 6-8, 2010 in Seattle, Washington.
For many years LocWord has gathered professionals in the field of localization from around the world. Every year experts gather at the conference to share experience, information on the latest trends and technologies in the world of localization, as well as to discuss topical issues.
This time the theme of the conference was "Know-how for worldwide success." CEO Leonid Glazychev, who has participated in the LocWord conference more than once, represented Logrus International. He presented a talk entitled "Expert evaluation of translation quality (LQA) as one of the key components of the localization process.” The presentation highlighted the importance of LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance), discussed in detail the process of LQA, the criteria used to assess the quality of translation, and described possible problems and solutions. Despite the fact that the presentation was scheduled after lunch on Friday afternoon, and ran simultaneously to four other presentations, over 50 participants gathered in the audience who actively responded to the presentation itself and took an active part in the discussion that followed. This again confirms the validity and relevance of LQA to the field of localization.
Logrus is a recognized expert in assessing the quality of multilingual translation and has provided LQA since 2006. During this time the company has completed several hundred projects, many of which covered 20-35 languages. Among regular Logrus customers of the LQA service are large companies such as Microsoft, SAP, McAfee and a number of major suppliers of multi-language translations.
