The Logrus Quality Assurance service (LQA) applies to the entire set of languages into which the client localizes various products and additionally includes the option of quick and independent solution development for new languages.
In all QA projects we rely on the services of trustworthy companies only and never use freelancers. Since the localization world is small, especially in developing countries, Logrus has several resources for each language so as to guarantee that a vendor does not perform both the translation and QA for a project.
The Logrus QA service provides flexibility in handling small tasks at short notice. We ensure a fast turnaround time, keep to agreed productivity terms, efficient project management and scalability, which are sufficient to deal with high volumes of requests or unexpected peaks in service with minimal support or communication.
The main purpose of LQA is to review the target materials for translation correctness and to ensure consistency within one product or with additional, related products.
LQA is not proofreading; it is a service used as a tool to assure adequate quality of the provided translation.
Upon receiving translated materials from a localization vendor, a client sends them to a separate LQA vendor — an independent language quality verification service provider.
During the LQA process, the reviewer first comments on errors and categorizes them without changing or editing the target document. The LQA process is therefore designed to help content owners control their translation providers and the quality of their services, which is important both for human and machine-oriented translation processes.
To reduce the amount of effort and to save time and money, LQA is usually performed on selected samples which are representative of the translation. The size of the sample is usually includes 100% of the User Interface (everything the user may see) and 10% of User Assistance.
The LQA team provides a report on language quality and gives recommendations. Provided with the LQA results, the content owner can ask the vendor to fix errors (if any) in the case of a PASS, or request additional proofreading in the case of a NO PASS result.
All errors are categorized according to the following Quality Criteria:
- The source text is translated accurately: the functionality of the localized product is properly reflected
- Deletions and additions are made only as a result of differences in localized products
- Correct cross-references
- Adherence to client glossaries, consistency (within and between parts of the product)
- use of appropriate terms.
- Language Quality:
- Grammar and syntax rules and standards of the target language are complied with
- Correct spelling and punctuation.
- Absence of typos
- Adherence to the Client's Translation Style Guide (if applicable) for the particular language
- Country Standards:
- Adaptation of cultural references, such as changes of source scenarios and changes from the source date/time/currency system to the metric system
The Logrus QA service is rendered through a user-friendly web interface where the status of each job can be tracked without any omissions regarding the tasks or procedures involved.

This form enables the client to provide us with all the necessary information about a project, such as product information, start dates and deadlines, target languages and the number of hours allocated for review. The total project cost will be automatically calculated based on the agreed price.
The LQA service is a competitive and clearly-priced solution. If the QA criteria for a given project differ from those currently implemented, there is a small set-up fee for the adjustment of our service to those needs, carrying out system-wide training, etc. Once the order is placed, LQA calculates the cost of QA automatically according to the volume of QA work and rates. The QA cost calculation formula itself is negotiable and can be customized while the terms and conditions of the order are being agreed upon.
